What you must do

Before placing this product on the EU market, or exporting it, an operator must:

• Confirm the product is in Annex I (a relevant commodity).
• Collect information, documents and data (Art. 9) and carry out a risk assessment (Art. 10).
• Submit a Due Diligence Statement (DDS) in TRACES before placing on the market or exporting.
• Provide the geolocation of all plots of land of origin.
• Standard-risk country: ordinary due diligence (Art. 10).

The level of due diligence depends on the country of origin (low / standard / high risk).
